Who's Involved

Our Team

Aleha McCauley, Community Engagement Librarian (Business Services) / SBA Program Manager

Aleha is responsible for the development, implementation, promotion, and assessment of the Small Business Accelerator Program. Aleha enjoys working closely with small business owners, entrepreneurs and all the wonderful organizations that support these businesses across our province. She is passionate about finding ways to extend local and UBC business resources, knowledge, and expertise to help support small business development in more remote and rural communities across British Columbia.

Kristen Wong, Program Services Assistant
Since joining the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre as the Program Services Assistant, Kristen has become involved in supporting Aleha and our graduate student staff in curating content for the Small Business Accelerator. She oversees the social media page and is a peer reviewer for content on the website.

UBC Graduate Students Staff

Since our inception, we have been grateful to employ talented graduate students from UBC's Sauder School of Business and iSchool.

How We Work

The Small Business Accelerator originated because of a close working relationship between David Lam Research Management Library and the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at the University of British Columbia. The program began as a way to leverage the research skills of business librarians who support the students and faculty from the Sauder School of Business. The Irving K. Barber Learning Centre continues to solicit the support of other expert information service providers in our content development.
