New Ventures BC (NVBC)

New Ventures BC (NVBC) is a not-for-profit that promotes entrepreneurship through innovation. NVBC runs the annual BCIC-New Ventures Competition, offering education, coaching, and $300,000+ in prizes to B.C. startups.  NVBC also offers a Distance Venture Acceleration program, which provides on-going training and dedicated mentorship for early-stage tech companies. Over the past 17 years NVBC competition winners have gone on to create 2700 jobs and raise $300+ million in financing, right here in BC.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Self-Employment Training (SET) Program for Young Entrepreneurs

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Self-Employment Training (SET) Program for Young Entrepreneurs is an initiative funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada-BC Job Fund to empower eligible young adults between 17 and 29 in their process for self-employment/business startup in Metro Vancouver. Youth are screened into the SET program based on their ability to meet the eligibility criteria and the viability of their business.

 

Eligibility:

  • Young adult age 17-29 years
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons living in Metro Vancouver
  • Unemployed, underemployed (20hr/week or less), or self-employed
  • Not actively participating in or receiving financial supports from another provincially- or federally-funded labour market program.
  • Not enrolled in high school or in post-secondary training

Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum

The Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum (VEF) is an online and offline platform for entrepreneurs within the technology realm. Through monthly forums, they bring together like-minded people to cultivate connections and create conversations designed to stimulate ideas.



They host eight events per calendar year. Participation at a VEF event provides attendees with personal connections, assistance with the identification of industry partnerships, academic faculty, management talent, financial agencies/investors and educational resources for developing and growing enterprises in British Columbia.
