Make a Change Canada

About This Organization

Make A Change Canada is an accredited, federally incorporated non-profit organization with charitable status. Their mission is to provide persons with disabilities and those facing other challenges to employment the skills they need to thrive in today’s competitive job market. Founded in 2004 as the Canadian Society for Social Development, they rebranded as Make A Change Canada in 2014 to better reflect the nature of the services they provide and clients they assist.

Among those they help are members of the Aboriginal community, youth, adult learners in remote areas, those who identify as LGBTQ, stay-at-home parents, people with disabilities and chronic health issues, and others facing obstacles to employment.

Check out Make a Change's Business Ability Program. Each year an increasing number of persons living with disabilities and chronic health issues are considering self-employment as a viable career option. The Business Abilities website will give you the tools you need to research your business idea and prepare your business plan. Once you have your venture started, the website will continue to provide you with access to webinars and tutorials to help you manage and grow your business.
