Trade associations often publish free industry newsletters that are excellent sources of information for your business plan. Such newsletters often have articles that cover in-depth topics on business management, manufacturing practices, how-tos, and current industry news.
Automotive Industries Association Of Canada | The voice and the resources of for the automotive aftermarket industry in Canada. Supports industry advocacy, compliance, standards and education about best practice. AIA also manage the following institutions:
- Canadian Collision Industry Forum | The CCIF facilitates networking and information sharing among collision industry stakeholders. The CCIF holds three meetings per year in different provinces and are also responsible for the Business Conditions Survey, collecting benchmark data from almost 800 participating businesses in the collision industry. Participating businesses receive a copy of the survey results.

Automotive Retailers Association | BC specific organisation representing businesses across the automotive industries, their Collision Repair Division “represents the interest of auto body shop businesses”. They are publishers of the following magazine:

Trade journals (often called magazines or trade publications) can be very useful in helping you find current articles relating to business research. Contact your local research library to determine which trade journal subscriptions they have. There are also free trade publications that you can access online.
