Associations
Trade associations often publish free industry newsletters that are excellent sources of information for your business plan. Such newsletters often have articles that cover in-depth topics on business management, manufacturing practices, how-tos, and current industry news.
Canadian Associations
- British Columbia Contract Cleaners Association |BCCCA’s mission is “To provide the professional cleaning industry community with knowledge, expertise, education and awareness with integrity, honesty and professionalism."
- ISSA Canada | A non-profit organization that “represents member companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sales of sanitary maintenance products and services.” Find upcoming virtual and in-person events here.
International Associations
- International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association (IJCSA) | Promotes professionalism and respected business ethics in the janitorial and cleaning services industry.
Magazines & Trade Journals
Trade associations often publish free industry newsletters that are excellent sources of information for business planning. Such newsletters often have articles that cover in-depth topics on business management, manufacturing practices, how-tos, and current industry news.
- Clean Canada | The official magazine of the ISSA published three times a year. Publicly available for all and geared toward ISSA members.
- Clean Matter Canada | ISSA’s biweekly digital newsletter. Offers up-to-date news on theCanadian professional cleaning industry.
- Tomorrow’s Cleaning | A completely digital magazine “[p]roviding coverage on the very latest news, issues and advancements” in the cleaning industry.
- Cleaning & Maintenance Management | This magazine is for cleaners working in health care, education, government, commercial, and other types of public settings. It is ISSA’s longest running publication, founded in 1964.

- Westech Cleaning Consulting | Westech offers consulting services to cleaning businesses in the healthcare, education and commercial industries. They also provide audit and productivity management software for companies in these industries.
MarketWatch - Industry Analyzer | The Industries section contains current data on Dow Jones Industry Sectors. Aggregate data as well as company-specific data is available.
PriceWaterhouse Coopers Canada (PwC) | Global consultancy firm that produces reports on the state of various industries.
Firsthand | A free source of industry information. Use the Industry Profiles to research growing industries and best industries by major, and Company Rankings and Profiles to find news, company information, and industry-specific sample professions. Basic monthly membership is free and offers access to blogs, discussion forums, and job listings.
