Welcome to the Portrait Photography Guide

What is the Portrait Photography Industry?

Portrait photography involves capturing the likeness of a person or persons using various photographic equipment, in either a photographic studio or at a specific location. In order to operate a successful portrait photography business, photographers need solid business management skills, along with experience behind the lens. Products and services that photographers can offer may include wedding photography, pure portraiture photography, or commercial/technical photography; a rising per capita disposable income will drive the industry over the next 5-10 years, and increase the number of operators in the space an annualized 1.9%, to 9. 249 by 2027 (IBISWorld, 2022).
