Associations
Trade associations often publish free industry newsletters that are excellent sources of information for your business plan. Such newsletters often have articles that cover in-depth topics on business management, manufacturing practices, how-tos, and current industry news.
Fishing
BC Salmon Marketing Council | The British Columbia Salmon Marketing Council is an association formed in 1991 to represent the harvesters and processors of commercially caught BC wild salmon.
British Columbia Tuna Fishermen's Association (BCTFA) | "The BC Tuna Fishermen's Association (BCTFA) was established in 2000 to help develop, promote and safeguard the interests of the BC tuna industry and its participants."
First Nations Fisheries Council (FNFC) | The FNFC “works with and on behalf of BC First Nations to protect, reconcile, and advance First Nations title and rights as they relate to fisheries and the health and protection of aquatic resources, including access for food, cultural, and economic purposes.”
Fisheries Council of Canada | A non-profit trade association representing fisheries and seafood enterprises in Canada.

Gulf Trollers Association | "The Gulf Trollers Association is an industry organization of independent owner/operators of troll fishing vessels, engaged in the commercial salmon fishery on the West Coast of Canada." Check out their list of commercial fishing in BC links.
The Native Fishing Association | The Native Fishing Association aims to “stabilize, support and increase Native participation in the BC commercial fishing industry.”
Underwater Harvesters Association (UHA) | The UHA is a non-profit association focused on the geoduck fishing industry.
Hunting
Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia (GOABC) | This organization is a non-profit society that works with the hunting tourism industry in BC, and promotes sustainable hunting practices.

Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association | "Since 1919, the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association has maintained a strong interest in hunting, fishing, shooting sports and conservation."

British Columbia Trappers Association (BCTA) | An association that promotes the economic and cultural values of British Columbian trappers.
Cree Trappers’ Association | The Cree Trappers’ Association’s mandate involves “promoting the interests and values of Eeyou/Eenou trappers, traditional pursuits, and governance of hunting territories in Eeyou Istchee.
